Mending Kits

A collaboration between Kelli of Bedhead Fiber and Rosie of In The Wind Goods, we are offering a sweet little mending kits which feature fingering weight, 100% local fine wool, naturally dyed yarn, a mending needle, and an instructional booklet on how to create beautiful visible mends on your favorite items. 

The three yarn kit includes three different colors of naturally dyed yarn. Each ball has roughly ten yards of yarn, which is ample for mending items. While creating this kit, we kept in mind mobility, sustainability, and a fun gift for yourself or a friend.

These kits are minimal waste: utilizing odd yardage skeins, sourcing local wool, using repurposed wool fiber to hold the needles, and glass jars which can be used over and over once the mending kit has been utilized. Using natural dyes keeps toxic chemicals from the waterways and inherently uses less water, on top of using water-efficient dye methods. Mending clothing, instead of purchasing additional or new items, reduces textile waste in landfills and reduces carbon emissions from consumption. Every item in this kit was made or reclaimed in the US.

There are three yarn kit options, featuring different colored yarns:

+red, pink, orange
+blue, green, purple
+light blue, mid blue, and dark blue
+purple, orange, yellow 

All yarns were hand dyed and stored in a smoke and pet free environment. Due to the unpredictability of natural dyeing, all hanks will differ with some slight variegation. We do our best to capture the yarn's true color to the best of our abilities, but each monitor is different. Please reach out if you have any questions.
