We firmly believe that anyone can cross stitch with patience and perseverance, but sometimes it helps to understand how time-consuming or challenging a pattern will be to create. Here's how we rate the difficulty of our patterns:
Beginner, 1/5 - Appropriate for a true beginner, simple stitches and fewer colors.
Advanced Beginner, 2/5 - Achievable for beginners who are willing to learn a new skill, may include more types of stitches or fun details that you haven't tried before.
Intermediate, 3/5 - More details, types of stitches and larger patterns.
Advanced, 4/5 - Still achievable, but patterns will include more details, colors and types of stitches maybe unfamiliar to beginners. These will take longer to create due to their complexities and added textures.
Challenging, 5/5 - Complex projects that are craft heavy in detail, texture and color. Still achievable, but prepare to spend a long time making these.

The pattern is super easy to follow and works up beautifully. I tried uploading both PDFs to Pattern Keeper, and it did work, but it isn't 100% compatible. There were several categories of same color / symbol, and the + symbol wouldnt show in pattern keeper until it was the highlighted choice. I used 14ct black aida, and changed the colors a little to match the favorite color of the recipient. I used DMC: 321 (darker red), 3801 (lighter red), 895 (darker green), 3346 (lighter green), and ECRU (cream).
My son has asked me to stitch him some subversive cross stitch to hang on his living-room wall sometime this year. He found your "Fuck this shit" design and pointed it out to me. I bought and downloaded it from your Etsy store. The chart is nice and clear. I haven't yet stitched it but, to me, as an experienced stitcher, it looks simple, fun and to the point! I can easily gather the necessary materials and I'm now planning to make it for my son's 30th birthday in April.
